Andrea Morton
Director Procurement & Supplier Management, Kāinga Ora - Homes and Communities

Andrea Morton has led the procurement function at Kāinga Ora – Homes and Communities (New Zealand’s public housing and urban regeneration government entity) since it was established as a Crown Agency 1 October 2019.  Kāinga Ora will spend over $50b in the coming 20 years regenerating NZ’s urban landscape and uplifting housing volume and quality in NZ.  Prior to the establishment of Kāinga Ora Andrea led the Procurement function at Housing New Zealand (HNZ); one of three entities that joined together to form the new organisation.  Kāinga Ora is the second largest government agency by capital expenditure in New Zealand, spending ~2.5b per annum including over $0.5b on property maintenance, constructing close to 3,000 homes, and undertaking large scale urban regeneration programmes across New Zealand.  As Director – Procurement and Supplier Management Andrea has oversight of the procurement, commercial and supplier management strategies and practices across the entity.   

Andrea has spent her career in sales, supplier management or procurement, and has worked across a range of industries and sectors.   Andrea is currently a member of the NZ Government Procurement Advisory group that works to elevate public sector procurement practices and also the New Zealand Procurement Excellence Forum, a coalition of public and private sector procurement professionals passionate about the positive impact procurement makes in New Zealand.  In 2020 Andrea was a finalist in the New Zealand Procurement Professional of the Year award, and also served as a member of the CIPS Australasia Awards evaluation team for the 2020 CIPS Australasia awards.
