
Liz McGill
Lecturer - Supply Chain Strategies, New Zealand Management Academies
Liz is passionate about all thing supply chain and volunteered to serve on the Auckland committee shortly after arriving in NZ from France. Liz holds a BSc joint Honours degree in International Business and French and is a full member of the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (FCIPS) and fluent in French.
Liz is currently a business lecturer in Supply Chain and Project Management focusing on Supply chain risk management strategies, sourcing and negotiation planning, she also carries out procurement and supply chain development projects. Her current role helps her to better understand the motivating forces and challenges faced by those wishing to extend their knowledge of supply chain and the education liaison role seeks to facilitate and strengthen the link between the class room and industry.
Prior to focusing on lecturing, Liz held the role of Manager of Procurement Excellence Technical Business Performance Group for Air New Zealand, supporting governance and the Strategic Vendor Management team. She has achieved global experience in roles such as Head of Procurement, Deputy Director Purchasing and Supply Chain Manager for large multinational companies which include American Express, Goodrich, Airbus, and Kingfisher Group.
Liz has also carried out freelance consultancy for supply chain consultants based in Europe. This background has given Liz responsibilities for managing Supply Chain and Procurement teams, as well as experience in diverse industries including retail, construction, aerospace, travel, telecommunications, and financial services with roles based in continental Europe, UK, and NZ. In her spare time Liz practices yoga, meditation and piano. Liz is also a keen traveller and enjoys the outdoors, trying to improve her golf and spending time with her family.
